Crazy crazy crazy week!
So this past week was transfers! And I got transfered! I am in a small small city called Canguaretama. It is located in the outskirts of Natal, about an hour from the city. But seriously it looks like the pictures you see on TV of Brazil. Lots of vegetation and hills--its just amazing.
Transfers were Wednesday. Found out Tuesday night that I was being transfered (it's always like this). I didn´t realize how many friends you make and how hard it is to leave the members and investigators. I didn´t have much time to say my goodbyes. I left early Wednesday morning for the bus station, said goodbye to a lot of missionaries and went on the bus. Alone. Weird, haha until I arrived at the bus station in Natal where there were a lot of missionaries. Got my new companion, Elder Moroni, and left to Canguaretama. It took me a while to memorize the name, and pronounce it too!
Here is much different than the Mossoró. Our area here, for example. stretches all the way to the beach. We can walk for hours and never reach the end of our area. We have only Elder Moroni and I, and 2 sisters for the whole town. The town is not really centered too. There are a few houses here and there so it takes forever walking. And its hilly. One day we walked 15 miles....longest day of my life haha But the good thing is that is it cold! Or, colder. There is actually a breeze and its only around the mid 90´s. Its heaven.
I forgot my camera but I took a few pictures from my house and my companion. There is literally a jungle in my backyard. Its so cool! Its what I imagined Brazil to be like. We have to walk through some brush, hop over walls to get to some of our investigotors/members. Its pretty crazy!
Love my new companion. This is his LAST transfer here in Brazil so he is pretty trunky. 39 more days until he goes home. He has a count down and everything, but I can´t blame him! He is Brazillian and really cool. About 5 ft nothing but has more character than....I don´t know. He is just really funny!
I am excited for a change and new people but its a lot to take in! Lots of things to remember and adjust to.
I gave a talk with not much notice in front of people that I really don´t know. I also played piano during sacrement meeting because they don´t have a pianist. All those years of practicing are paying off! We also had a baptism! I got to baptize him woo! Lots of things happened in the past few days and its so exciting!
Love you guys so much!
Scripture of the Week: Alma 58:12 So grateful for the people who sacrificed their lives to defend our land, possessions, families and liberty. Happy Memorial day!
Love

Fun Fact: (I think/heard) Because the USA had a base here in Natal during WWII, some of the locals picked up a few slang terms. It is not uncommon to hear "Hey my brother!" or "Hey boy!" But its funny because of their accents!
