EOpa!!
Like I told you last week, I had to go to Natal to renew my visa. It was about 9 hours on the bus in air conditioning, which was awesome. But it was just a lot of traveling. There in the federal police station, I talked with some people who were doing the same thing. I met a Canadian and a Demarkan. Weird to hear English without much accent. I had to retranslate back to English from Portuguese. I felt so stupid hahaha.
We had a district meeting in Caicó, first time ever because since we live so far away, we can´t go to the district meeting. So that was all good.
On Wednesday it was normal except for the fact that Presidente Soares was in Patos! He did some interviews. He does them every few months with all the missionaries, and he finally made it to Patos! It was so nice to talk with him, love that man!
On Thursday we went to São José do Egito (saint Joseph of Egypt). Its a town outside the state of Paraíba and out of our mission boundaries. BUT we got authorization from Pres. Soares to visit him, baptize him and confirm him. SO COOL. Because that little town doesn´t have any missionaries or a church so we had to baptize him somewhere. We found a lake/river after hiking for about 20 min from his house. My companion went and and baptized him. Coolest thing ever. I feel like I was in the jungles of Brazil.
This investigator was the one who was already reading the BOM and had a testimony. He was just waiting for the ordinance of baptism to progress. Like it says in the scriptures, baptism is the door. One needs to enter to progress eternally!
Scripture of the week: Alma 37:6 The Lord works through small and simple ways to bring the salvation to families. The gospel is not complicated!
