Oi!!
The days are getting longer but the weeks are going by faster! Wow, I can't believe it is P-day already!
Last letter I did not really talk much about my companion or district, but there wasn't much to say. I love all of them. I was just made District Leader, which in the MTC does not do a whole lot. I am assuming in the field they do more -- it is way more stressful because we are not all together all the time. But basically our district is amazing. Sadly, 4 people left this morning (2 elders 2 sisters) to the Sao Paulo MTC. Personal study time was very different, but more roomy in our classroom. I think we had the biggest district in our zone, but the smallest classroom! Now it's manageable.
Since many older districts have left, we are now the second oldest district and soon to be first in our zone. It's fun being on the other side and seeing the newbies come in Wednesday and seeing their faces.
Our "investigator" last week is now our teacher! Well, our second teacher. We have Irmao Sears (who is 21 which is funny because some people in our district are 21 or 22) and then our new teacher is Irma Wells. Both amazing and fun!! Could not be more happy!
Same as last week: Lots and lots and lots of studying and language. I feel myself improving each and everyday. I love love love the language and the gospel. I know this is only week 2, but I am so ready to got to Brazil!! I was talking to my companion (Elder Reynolds from Mesa) and we were talking about how we really don't get nervous teaching. Before my mission, I was shy and didn't really like to talk to people, or was more afraid to. But being here in the MTC and learning a whole new language...I don't know. It is just something different. There is love here. There is the Spirit here. I love the people and the gospel and I cannot wait to share it! It brings me comfort and strength sharing the gospel even in a different language.
I will talk to you guys soon!! Thank you for all of your support! I love the gospel and Christ. I love the light, life and joy it brings in my life!
Love,
Hayden
Fun fact: Spanish speakers laugh is "jajajajajajaja." American's laugh is "hahahaha" but Portuguese is "kkkkkkkkkk" Don't ask me why....I am still confused!
