For Mother's Day we got to Skype with Hayden. It was the perfect Mother's Day gift! Christine
OÍ!!!!!
That was so much fun Skyping yesterday! Thank you for making that day special for me!
But since we just talked yesterday, there is not a whole lot to say. No, I didn´t go to the doctor, but I called Sister Soares (Mission Presiden't wife) and she said to rest and take Advil. It is a common virus that will pass so I am not too worried about it.
You guys asked for more information about my actual teaching/investigators. Well the baptism yesterday was awesome. Her name is Fernanda and she is the girlfriend of a member in our ward. She has been going to our church for the past 6 months and other missionaries have been teaching her too (she lives in a different area than our ward boundaries). Basically she was a "golden investigator." She understood all the lessons, had a desire to learn more--it was just really cool. And her boyfriend baptized her! So that was all fun and dandy.
Oh and a less active member came back to church for the first time in years. We baptized her daughters this past month so everytime we visited her daughters she was there. She served a mission and everything but after she kinda lost her way. But it was cool because she was supportive of her daughter´s baptisms and helped us teach some of the lessons! So it was so cool to see her in church!!
It's the little miracles like these that help me see how amazing the gospel really is! I am so happy to be a part of the Lord´s great work and to see the happiness the simple truths bring in the lives of others!
Scripture of the Week: Isaiah 41:10 Fear not for the Lord is on our side!!!
Love,
Hayden
Fun Fact: Because the little towns/cities in Rio Grande de Norte are more isolated, there are different accents for each town. For example, Mossoró has a different accent than Natal. Its pretty crazy!!!
