Óla!
Another amazing week here in the City of Sun!
I had a lot of interesting food this week. Chicken hearts again (so freaking good)! I also had more crab, a different type of crab. It was interesting because he had a bucket of live crab--crawling and everything, then a few minutes later they were all cooked! I saw the before and after effect-yum! But honestly it was pretty good. I also had marrow from the bones of some animal. It was cooked so it wasn´t liquid anymore, just hot gelatin....very intersting!
In this small branch in Canguaretama (35-40 active members), there are 2 or 3 missionaries leaving for the field in the next month or so! That is so cool! So we had a going away party for one of them! It was really cool because there were some non members there (always good for us) and they had cookies! It was funny because no one knows how to make chocolate chip cookies so when someone does make some, they LOVE them!
This week was a lot of walking. Since our area is huge, we have to walk a lot. We can´t reach our boundaries by foot. But we have some investigators about an hour away by foot. Love the people here, always so inviting and receptive to listen "to the word of God." They love the messages that we give but they have a difficult time keeping commitments. We could talk for hours if we wanted, but it's really up to them if they to act on the promptings of the Holy Ghost! Sometimes its frustrating to watch this, but we can´t force them to do anything.
Anyway, I love all of your emails and love that I receive! Thank you so much and love you all!
Scripture of the Week: 1 Nephi 1:1 Yes I was born of goodly parents and learned MANY things from my Father! Happy Father´s Day!
Love
Hayden
Fun Fact: Apparently here in Brazil, there is a holiday just for girlfriends/boyfriends...Yes they have Valentine´s Day but this too. To celebrate, they make huge bonfires in the middle of the street!
