Oí!!
Another week done and this is it! This is the last week before the field! Lots of emotions. No I have not gotten my reassignment yet, but I will this week (probably Thursday or Friday). I will let you know as soon as I find out. It was funny because our whole district (except for one person....jealous haha) is getting reassigned and we are all anxiously waiting! But for the fun of it, we made a sweet 16 bracket with the states we are thinking that we are going to go. It looks like Oregon won so its basically prophecy. But its all a matter of time!!
This week we had TRC (basically we teach members being themselves, not "investigators.") But instead of people coming to the MTC we skyped with people in Brazil!! Super cool but super hard. Little discouraging that the connection was not the greatest and the accent was not the thinnest and the talking speed was not the slowest BUT it was still a really neat experience. He was super nice and patient with us while we painfully taught him stuff that he already knew. We have the opportunity to teach again!
The elders in my district are pretty amazing and funny. Amazing spiritually and funny....in things they do. This week we started "The Finer Things Club." During the golden hour at night we discuss the questions of life and everyone has. This could be scripture related or pretty much anything. It gets pretty intense haha but it is great that everyone is getting along so well. I look at other districts and then ours. Ours is pretty amazing. And I know I will be so sad once we all leave in a week. They really are family to me and I never thought I would get this close to them. And the teachers....ugh they are just so so amazing. They are like the parents in this little family!
Nothing else super exciting/interesting happened. Same studying and learning more language and difficult grammar rules that I have no idea how to use them. I am happy that my companion and I can teach a 50 min lesson without major train wrecks! I have learned more language in the past 5 weeks than I have my whole high school career and I have learned more doctrinal principles than I have probably all of seminary. I can't wait to ship out in a week and invite others to come unto our Savior, Jesus Christ!!
Love,
Hayden
Fun Fact: So in Portuguese there are really interesting pronunciations. Some sound like Spanish, French and Italian. So my name, Elder Moffat, but is pronounced Elder Mah-fitch. For the next two years that is what my new name will be! Don't be surprised when I come home an can't even pronounce my own name correctly haha. Its super fun though!
