So this week was another crazy busy week, but that´s just life!
We baptized 3 this week!! Miracles happen. We had a few baptisms ready but we were afraid they would fall through. And the mission baptized 200 this month! Not our record -- but its still good!
Antonio: Really nice guy. He is about 50 years old, cousin of an active pioneer here in Patos (30 years as a member. That is a long time here in the northeastern part of Brazil) He found out about the church in Santa Catarina, a state in the southeastern part of Brazil. He had to move here to Patos before they could baptize him. So it was basically a slam dunk for us. He is going to receive the priesthood next week! Woo!
Guilard/Giovani: (the pic)They are brothers who we talked to on the street. We met at their house and they went to church a few times and were baptized. Well intergrated with the youth. Nearly every night there is an activity so they are starting to go to them.
And I will be here in Brazil for one year on March 4th!!! No I don´t speak well but at least I am trying! I still write words in my planner but I love the language and culture!
Scriptures of the Week: 2 Nephi 5, 4 Nephi I was reading in the February Liahona about how the Book of Mormon teaches us about happiness. Can you see how it does?
It's funny when we explain where the church is in Patos when we are talking with people on the street. We start by explaining where the gas station is (there are only a few in Patos) thinking that everyone knows where it is because it's usually a necessity in people´s lives. But no, some have no clue where it is. They we explain where a football stadium is and then they´re like "right, I know where it is" hahaha oh Brazillians and football.
