Sooooo much happened so I will try fitting it all in.....
First: Natal. Another long trip but I got it all sorted out! I am not going to get deported hahaha but weird thing happened...When I was sleeping in the Moroni house I was actually COLD. We had three fans for four people and it was in Natal which is much cooler than Mossoró. Pretty cool feeling!
Secondly, Easter. Definitely different Easter than in US! On Friday, everyone was gone because it is a holiday. So it was werid not seeing many people on the street. Also, they have this tradition to make a stuffed scarecrow of Judus (from the Bible) and then burn the scarecrow in the middle of the street at night. Kinda crazy, but interesting!! Yesterday I had pizza...ugh, so good. Homemade pizza for Easter!!
Thirdly, conference!! AMAZING!!! SO SO SO AMAZING!!! I got to watch all the sessions in Engish in a nice air conditioned room with my other American Elders/Sisters! It was a nice change, we all spoke English! Only twice a year we will get to do that! But it was funny because they would mix words in mid sentence between English and Portuguese, but we all understood, haha.
But seriously conference was so amazing. A whole different view as a missionary compared to when I was at home. One of my favorite talks was Holland´s on Sunday about the Savior. Such power! Ugh I just love conference so much! But I think the main message for Saturday was families and marriage and how important it is to the Father´s plan! And Sunday was about Christ. You can never have too many talks about Him. Could not be more excited for next conference!
On a more cultural note, I got to have some new food! I had fish friday and saturday. But with this fish I had the wonderful opportunity to pick the bones out of every bite. I swallowed with gladness! haha Also, this new fruit called "pinha" was so good! It looks fake, but it is sooo good. And there is this sweet bread (pão dolce) which is just so amazing!! I have it everyday and it is only about 80 cents (American) for 8 good size pieces! So good!!
Scripture of the Week: Alma 7:11-13 The Savior´s Atonement is a powerful tool--suffered for all pains, sorrows, sickness and everything!
Such an amazing week. Could not be happier!!
Love

Fun fact: So the kids here in Brazil learn a little English in school. It is really fun to watch them count to ten and say "hi." It is cool to see how widely English is accepted and used! So grateful I know English! But now I have to learn Portuguese because that is kinda more important right now....haha
