Hey family!!
Another great week here in Natal! Sun and rain!
So I had an ingrown toenail which needed to be taken out because it was bleeding and hurting. Long story short, I had to go with Sister Soares to get it removed (but this is really common here, like the people at the clinic know Sister Soares and know the missionaries. Its actually pretty funny!) After we had that little adventure, we went to McDonalds. yes it made my week and yes it was a huge deal. Why? First time in a year a 3 months that I had eaten there. McDonald´s here is like a "cool/classy/big deal" because there aren´t many. It is really expensive as well! But sooooo good. Then on our way back to our house, sister Soares took us on a route to get a view of the beach. Wow. I wish I had brought my camera!
On a more spiritual note, this week was another great wek. Unfortunetely we didn´t have any baptisms, but we should have one this week. We are having difficulty finding good people to teach. The missionary who was here before me got sick his last few weeks fo the transfer so they couldn´t work that much. Then I arrived, training. So its been kind of interesting. Lots of contacts of fire (does that make sense?).
We are here in Panatis, the northern zone of Natal. The mission office and home are on the southern zone, about 30 min away. This half of Natal is a little more humble, there arn´t any buildings or antying like this. The ward is strong, about 130 people attend every Sunday. I love the Zone leaders, which makes things a lot easier.
My companion is from Santa Catarina, which is on the southern end of Brazil. Here has a few weeks here in the field, makes things really fun!
We have a larger district, which is hard to follow up with everyone. I think 2 or 3 times I had to go to the other areas to do some interviews, but it's fun!
I found out this past week that a recent convert that I baptized in my 2nd area is planning on serving a mission. Because of her, after I left, she helped baptize 6 of her friends and has strengthened the ward immensly. A missionary in our zone was serving in that area last transfer and told me about the branch and everything there. It makes me so happy to hear about recent converts progressing! Love this work!
