Oí!!!
Well this is it! The week has come! I am off to Brazil this Monday and I couldn't be more excited! Again, I know this week has been crazy crazy crazy with all of the reassignments and everything but it's all good now!
Lots of mixed emotions. I am excited to leave but so so sad to leave all of my friends and teachers. You really learn to love them and grow as a family. I never thought that would happen here at the MTC. It is actually really sad leaving the people you have become so close with and are not able to see for 2 years. But I know I will make new friends out in the field! And almost our whole district goes to BYU (except for 2 people) so after we will have a big fiesta with all of them.
I got to Skype with Brazillians again!! This week was sooooo much better than last week. One, I could actually understand about 70% of what she was saying! It really helped when the connection was super good. And second, she served a mission and has done this Skype/TRC thing before so she knew that our Portuguese was not amazing so she used very simple words. And 45 min later I learned so much! It definitely made me excited to go to Brazil! She did say that in the north their accents are much different than the southern accent (around Sao Paulo area), which is the accent I have been learning the past 6 weeks. That's ok. More adventure for me!
Nothing else super crazy. The usually studying and learning. As a district, everyone is getting a little anxious to leave and get out there. On Thursday we had an Infield Orientation! Super long, but interesting. It's going to be a long road ahead but I am excited! Love you so much and I love my Savior as well!
Love,
Hayden
Fun fact: Both of my teachers talked about how fresh the fruit is. I know Cole said in Chile they had "juice," meaning fruit punch or something. But in Brazil they pick it off the trees and squeeze it in front of you! And there are crazy fruits that I have never heard of. Brother Sears (my teacher) was telling me how he picked a banana from a tree and fed it to a monkey! I am so excited for the food!!!
