Hey family!
Ugh, I had an audio clip but it's too big. I am in Brazil right now loving life! Yes, it is so freaking hot (around 37 degrees C) and humid but it is sooooo coool!
The food is amazing--I love love love the juice. And yes I do have to drink more than a gallon of water a day to keep hydrated. I have never sweat so much in my life. I will never complain about the heat ever again, haha.
Everything is different here (duh Hayden). I am in a town called Mossoró which is just northwest of Natal by 5 hours. I live with another companionship which has an American from Gilbert AZ. So I am not alone!!
My companion, Elder Dos Santos, is Brazilian -- from Recife (7 hours south). He is a nice guy. It is good that I am living with a native. My Portuguese is really improving rapidly. People say I understand well for an American so that´s good. Or at least that´s what I think they said....eh I will never know.
I thought being blonde was uncommon here, but I am seriously like a unicorn. All the little kids want to study me. They are costantly touching my skin saying "vermelho" which means "red." It is pretty comical. The other American I am living with is darker, so people don´t give him weird looks.
I can already see my tan lines. ha ha - they´re going to be crazy when I get home. Sorry if this is really short but the stupid keyboard is different. So I apologize if there are horrible spelling errors. I send you my love and heat from Brazil!
Love,
Hayden
Fun Fact: There is no underground sewer system where I am staying. They have indoor plumbing though. So there are tubes exiting the houses. From the tubes is the sewage. So litterally its raining poop sometimes! Nothing like singing in the rain!
