Yeah, its a desert here! Its never been this dry here since the 1915, 100 years ago..... it hasn´t rained since 2010. So apparently the city is going to run out of water in a week or so....but don´t worry! We will be all ok!
This was pretty uneventful. We have been working with a lot of less actives to find new investigators. So a lot of updating of the list and a lot of walking and talking but that´s the mission life!
One of the member´s here (returned missionary who served in Colorado, so he speaks English which is really cool!) has a pet monkey!! Yes a pet monkey who I got to hold and feed. It was so freaking cool!!
Oh the other day I ate cow liver, not my favorite thing in the whole world but its something new and I didn´t die!!
The area here is very different than Canguaretama (my last area). Here there are a lot of Catholic churches where as Canguaretama had Assemblies.
Scripture of the week: Acts 3:19-21 The Restoration of the gospel! Its really cool because in portuguese they use "restauração" and not "restitution."
Fun Fact: The rooster does crow really early in the morning! How do I know this? Nearly all of our neighboors have chickens and animals. So at 4:30 I am awake to the crowing. But now I know to kill and defeather (is that a word? pluck?) a chicken. You tie it up to a tree branch by its legs and you pull down on the neck. It then breaks and the chicken goes crazy for about a minute--pronto! Its ready to be plucked and eaten! Woo!!!
